Mistflower (Conoclinium coelestinum) is a seasonal plant with lavender flowers mid-summer through fall. They prefer moist to mesic soil in part sun to shade, but can tolerate sun with adequate moisture. They are a good choice on partly shaded or shaded slopes. Companion plants include False Solomon’s Seal (Maianthemum racemosum) and Lady Fern (Athyrium felix-femina).
Maintenance
Plants may spread aggressively in settings with little competition by surrounding plants.
