Yellow Wild Indigo

Baptisia sphaerocarpa

Yellow Wild Indigo (Baptisia sphaerocarpa) is a structural plant with yellow flowers in mid- to late spring. They prefer dry to mesic soil in full sun where they can grow to 3 feet tall. They are a good choice for bioretention banks and slopes. Companion plants include Pale Purple Coneflower (Echinacea pallida) and Prairie Dropseed (Sporobolous heterolepis).
