Harebell

Campanula rotundifolia

Harebell (Campanula rotundifolia) is a seasonal plant with purple blooms from early summer to early fall. They prefer full sun to part shade in dry to mesic soil, where they grow to 1.5 feet tall. They are a good choice for bioretention banks and slopes. Companion plants include Pennsylvania Sedge (Amorpha canescens) and Whorled Milkweed (Asclepias verticillata).

Maintenance

In climates with hot and humid summers, Harebell performs best in partly shaded locations. No serious maintenance needs.
