Blanket Flower (Gaillardia aristata) is a seasonal plant with red, orange, and yellow flowers from summer through fall. They prefer dry soil in full sun where they grow to 2 feet tall. They are a good choice for dry banks. Companion plants include Prairie Dropseed (Sporobolus heterolepis) and Aromatic Aster (Symphyotrichum oblongifolium).
Maintenance
Few serious maintenance concerns. Root rot can be in issue when planted in sites with poor drainage. Powdery mildew is an occasional foliage issue.
