Lenten Rose (Helleborus spp.) is a groundcover plant with attractive flowers in early spring and semi-evergreen foliage. They prefer average soil in part sun or shade making them well-suited for shaded slopes where they’ll grow about 1.5 feet tall. Companion plants include Woodland Phlox (Phlox divaricata) and Rosy Sedge (Carex rosea).
