Showy Goldenrod

Solidago speciosa

Showy Goldenrod (Solidago speciosa) is a seasonal plant with yellow flowers from mid-summer into fall. They prefer sun to part sun in mesic to dry soil where they grow up to 4 feet tall. They are a good choice for the slopes and banks of bioretention installations. Companion plants include Flowering Spurge (Euphorbia corollata) and Wild Bergamot (Monarda fistulosa).

Maintenance

No serious maintenance needs. May need to be divided every few years to control spread by rhizome.
