Big-Leaved Aster (Eurybia macrophylla) is a seasonal plant with lavender blooms in fall. They prefer mesic to dry soil in part sun to shade where they grow up to 4 feet tall. They are a good choice for shaded banks and slopes. Companion plants include Woodland Phlox (Phlox divaricata) and Pennsylvania Sedge (Carex pensylvanica).
Maintenance
Powdery mildew can be a problem, but no serious maintenance needs.
