Blue Vervain (Verbena hastata) is a seasonal or structural plant with purple or blue flowers from summer into early fall. They prefer full sun in moist to mesic soil where they grow up to 5 feet tall. They are a good choice for basins and slopes of bioretention installations. Companion plants include Swamp Milkweed (Asclepias incarnata) and Common Mountain Mint (Pycnanthemum virginianum).
