Celandine Poppy (Stylophorum diphyllum) is a seasonal interest plant with yellow flowers that bloom from mid-to late spring. They prefer moist to mesic soil in part sun to shade, growing up to 2 feet tall. In some instances, the plant may go dormant in the summer months. They are best suited for shaded slopes. Companion plants include Rosy Sedge (Carex rosea) and Lady Fern (Athyrium filix-femina).
Maintenance
Deadhead or shear plants post-bloom in late spring or early summer to prevent aggressive spread by self-seeding.
