Common Bur Sedge (Carex grayi) is a groundcover plant with grassy foliage that prefers wet to moist soil in sun to part sun but can tolerate some shade. It grows to about 3 feet tall, and colonies form as the plants mature, making them a good choice for groundcovers in basins. Companion plants include Marsh Marigold (Caltha palustris) and Southern Blue Flag Iris (Iris virginica var. shrevei).
