Eastern Star Sedge (Carex radiata) is a groundcover plant with grassy foliage that prefers moist to mesic soil in part sun to shade, growing to about 2 feet tall. Colonies form as the plants mature, making them a good choice for groundcovers on slopes. Companion plants include Woodland Phlox (Phlox divaricata) and White Wood Aster (Eurybia divaricata).
Maintenance
Cut back dead foliage to 3 inches in late winter.
