Interrupted Fern

Osmunda claytoniana

Interrupted Fern (Osmunda claytoniana) is a structural plant with attractive foliage through the growing season. They prefer part sun to full shade in moist to mesic soil, where they grow to 3 feet tall. They are a good choice for shaded bioretenion slopes and basins. Companion plants include Winterberry (Ilex verticillata) and Great Blue Lobelia (Lobelia siphilitica).
