Japanese Anemone

Anemone hupehensis

Japanese Anemone (Athyrium niponicum) is a seasonal plant with white flowers in late summer through fall. They prefer moist to mesic soil in part sun to shade. They are a good choice on partly shaded or shaded slopes and basins. Companion plants include False Solomon's Seal (Maianthemum racemosum) and Lady's Fern (Athyrium felix-femina).

Maintenance

Plants may need to be staked when in bloom. Cut back to the ground in late winter.
