Large-Flowered Trillium (Trillium grandiflorum) is a spring ephemeral plant with white flowers in spring. They prefer moist to mesic soil in part sun to shade where they grow to 1 foot tall. They are a good choice for the slopes of shaded rain gardens. Companion plants include Rosy Sedge (Carex rosea) and False Solomon’s Seal (Maianthemum racemosum).
Maintenance
No serious maintenance needs. Nearby plants should be designed to fill in the gaps left behind when the plant goes dormant in the summer.
