Rue Anemone (Anemonella thalictroides) is a spring ephemeral plant with white blooms in early spring. They prefer mesic to dry soil in part sun to shade. They are best suited for banks where they'll grow to 8 inches tall. They should be interplanted with species that fill in the voids left once the plant goes dormant in summer. Companion plants include Pennsylvania Sedge (Carex pensylvanica) and Jacob’s Ladder (Polemonium reptans).
Maintenance
No serious maintenance needs. Nearby plants should be designed to fill in the gaps left behind when the plant goes dormant in the summer.
