Sharp-Lobed Hepatica (Hepatica nobilis acuta) is an ephemeral plant with white, pink, or purple flowers in very early spring. They prefer average to dry soil in part sun to shade where they grow to less than 1 foot tall. They are a good choice for shaded banks and slopes. Companion plants include Marginal Wood Fern (Dryopteris marginalis) and White Wood Aster (Eurybia divaricata).
Maintenance
Soil should be well-drained. No other serious maintenance needs.
