Smooth Phlox (Phlox glaberrima) is a seasonal plant with pink blooms in summer. They prefer moist to mesic soil in sun to shade where they grow up to 2 feet tall. They are a good choice for slopes and banks. Companion plants include Rosy Sedge (Carex rosea) and Virginia Bluebells (Mertensia virginica).
Maintenance
If desired, deadhead in late July or August to prevent spread by self-seeding. Plants should be watered in times of drought.
