Arkansas Bluestar

Amsonia hubrichtii

Arkansas Bluestar (Amsonia hubrichtii) is a seasonal plant with pale blue blooms from late spring into summer and excellent fall color. They prefer moist soil in full sun to part shade where they grow up to 4 feet tall, making them a good choice for slopes and basins. Companion plants include Purple Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea) and Wild Hyacinth (Camassia scilloides).

Maintenance

To prevent potential flopping, consider cutting back post-bloom in July.
