Golden Ragwort (Packera aurea) is a seasonal plant with yellow blooms in spring. They prefer sun to shade in moist to mesic soil, where they grow to 2 feet tall. They are a good choice for shaded bioretenion slopes and basins. Companion plants include Purple Joe Pye Weed (Eutrochium purpureum) and Interrupted Fern (Osmunda claytoniana).
Maintenance
Deadhead post-bloom to prevent aggressive spread by seed.
